The Media Overseas And The Mind Of A Socialist

My parents have gone overseas for a few weeks and my father wrote me an email yesterday asking what the news was like over here. He said that everything you hear overseas is only in favor of Obama.

I grew up overseas and, not surprisingly, the world follows the U.S.'s every move daily. Our strength as a nation is vital to the safety and security of every democratic nation on earth. So why in the world would the media in every nook and cranny of the world be so socialist leaning and be in support of basically every Democrat that has ever run for President?

Is it a simple jealousy of the wealth of our nation that spurs their ideology? Is it this jealousy that makes them believe that since we have so much we should be forced to give based on how much we make?

I believe that internally it is. The problem that they choose to avoid is that the United States is the most charitable nation, both by government and citizen, in the history of mankind.

Here's the catch. If Obama is voted to be the next President and we are then forced to give our hard earned money away based on a scale of richness that he creates, we will no longer have the ability to choose to be charitable. Obama wants you to believe that he cares for you. He doesn't. You are an unimportant fool to him because you have money and property and a voice that he wants to control. Don't believe me? I couldn't care less. If you make the mistake of voting him in, you will see for yourself first hand the devastation you have created, and there will be no one to blame but yourself.

THe socialist theory has not done well or has failed the world over. Why does Obama want to try it in the States. Is he that poor a student of history??

Can I play devil's advocate for a minute regarding Socialism? I remember being taught in the states that socialism was bad both for the economy and freedom. But from this side of the pond (Belgium), it doesn't seems to be so sinister.
I can understand your statement that increased taxes for social programs seems to take away the self-initiated giving for charity, but that's not necessarily true. No one can stop you from giving. Perhaps those who do it for the wrong reasons would no longer feel they needed to do it, but then why should that matter? Now, I'm not expert on political systems, and perhaps we have different definitions of what socialism is. All I know is that I enjoy a society that takes the employee into consideration, and not just the profits. Wouldn't you also like to have 42 days of vacation a year to spend with your family? Perhaps the answer lies somewhere between the two extremes of socialism and capitalism.

There's a reason why America is the greatest nation in the history of humankind: Capitalism.

And yes, you CAN be forced to not be monetarily charitable if all of your hard earned money is taken from you by the government.
