McCain Says 'Let It Rain!' Announcing That Debate Is On

Obama was overheard this morning using obscenities after finding out that McCain will actually show up for the debate after all. Two days ago, Obama had actually been relieved to hear that McCain wouldn't be showing up for the debate since he knew he would get schooled. So Obama tried to talk big and use big people words to taunt McCain even though he really didn't want him to show up. Well, Obama, you can call McCain the bus driver kid, 'cos he's about to take you to school.

This story is farcicle. Don't take it too seriously. I didn't actually hear Obama cursing even though I'm sure he did and then he went down to the dungeon where Harry Reid and Satan play dominoes and discuss how they're going to ruin the country.

Media bias

It's unbelievable that Obama would just now come out with a statement accusing McCain and other Republicans that 'We have to act' now on the bailout plan when he and Harry Reid were the ones saying that:

1. McCain wasn't needed back in Washington to help.

2. Obama didn't want to go to Washington in the first place to do anything to help in the first place.

Anyone else catching the media in their bias besides me?

Scientists Prove Reid's Brain is Half the Size of a Walnut!

Ol' Harry Reid up to his slow-minded ways again. He's told McCain he's not needed in the discussion of the financial crisis and not to come back to Washington. I wonder what he would have said if Obama had decided to do his job first before McCain?

Interesting but not surprising how stupid Harry Reid is. And yes Harry, you're still tied with Nancy Pelosi as my least favorite person ever.

McCain Wins Today; Obama Always A Loser

Does it surprise anyone that Obama doesn't want to fix anything including the financial turmoil we're in? The clear winner from today is John McCain when he said that he is stalling his campaign to do his job as a U.S. Senator and help out with the potential market collapse.

Now I realize that not everyone agrees with the way the Republicans are trying to bail these companies out(including myself) and I also realize that this could very well be a political ploy from the McCain camp to show that he is the more compassionate candidate, which there is no doubt that he is, even if he might use politics to prove it.

But that's not the point. The point is that McCain thought of it first. While Obama makes excuses about 'continuing the debate', McCain is showing that he IS actually the bigger man.

And don't misunderstand for one second that the last thing Obama wants to do is fix this problem. The financial scenario at the moment makes Obama jump for glee because he loves to see this country suffer. He LOVES it. Obama and his cronies want you to suffer enough until they actually make you believe that the free market is at fault and not themselves and the government's lack of doing anything at all. They(the Democratic Congress and Obama) have made it their goal to make sure you are forced into a Marxist/socialist society by using the robot media's blind reporting that everything the Democrat's do is perfect.

Let's all say the left-wing media's mantra together: OBAMA IS OUR SAVIOR AND HE WILL LEAD US TO EUTOPIA AND HE IS PERFECT AND THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS IS A BEAUTIFUL SHINING LIGHT FROM MOUNT POOPOO.

Differences Between Democrats and Republicans In Simple Illustration

Written by an anonymous writer:

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words, redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school. Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, 'How is your friend Audrey doing?' She replied, 'Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over.'

Her wise father asked his daughter, 'Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your
friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.'

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, 'That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!'

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, 'Welcome to the Republican party.'

Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools

Written by - Stanley Kurtz

...The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s. Among other feats, Mr. Ayers and his cohorts bombed the Pentagon, and he has never expressed regret for his actions. Barack Obama's first run for the Illinois State Senate was launched at a 1995 gathering at Mr. Ayers's home.

Democrats Responsible and Lying Once Again

In my link on the left hand side you will see a story entitled How the Democrats Created the Financial Crisis. If you don't read it then read this small excerpt:

For the first time in history, a serious Fannie and Freddie reform bill was passed by the Senate Banking Committee. The bill gave a regulator power to crack down, and would have required the companies to eliminate their investments in risky assets.

If that bill had become law, then the world today would be different. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, a blizzard of terrible mortgage paper fluttered out of the Fannie and Freddie clouds, burying many of our oldest and most venerable institutions. Without their checkbooks keeping the market liquid and buying up excess supply, the market would likely have not existed.

But the bill didn't become law, for a simple reason: Democrats opposed it on a party-line vote in the committee, signaling that this would be a partisan issue. Republicans, tied in knots by the tight Democratic opposition, couldn't even get the Senate to vote on the matter.

President Bush tried no less than 20 times to reform Fannie and Freddie. Guess who he was met with in opposition? The Democrats. And now they want more money and regulation to fix the market based on their lies that they never had anything to do with it. Obama blames it on the free market just like the socialist marxist that he is. He must have wet his pants in glee when Freddie and Fannie went downhill. Not only did he make a WHOLE lot of money because of it, but now he gets to diss the free market and the media is going to let him get away with it. Somebody wake me up from this nightmare.

Journalism is Dead

Day after day goes by in this election cycle and it grows more and more absurd at how insane the media has become over their Obama worship. I think that Obama could say almost anything at this point and the media would give him a pass. This man is talented in getting votes but is by far the worst candidate to run for President in our history.

From Rezco, to dirty Chicago politics, to infanticide, to raising taxes on EVERYBODY, to raising spending by a trillion dollars. But let's not stop there. He himself said back in '04 that he wouldn't be running for President because he lacked the experience and knowledge that it would take. His own vice-presidential pick echoed his statements saying that this wasn't a learn as you go job. Isn't it amazing what libs get away with? If this had been McCain the media would never have let up on him. But do you ever hear these statements echoed anywhere in the media?

Let's keep going. His closest circle consists of terrorists, racist preachers, and chicago mobsters. His economic advisers were the same guys who ran Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into the ground! Bet you won't hear that anywhere in the media.

He hasn't done a single thing in his political career except vote present more than 130 times in the Senate and start his presidential campaign as soon as he was voted as a Congressman.

He talks about change and hope and he says 'Yes we can!' a lot even though he told his speech-writers when they wrote that phrase that he thought it was idiotic.

Unbelievable. The media isn't going to give you any information on Obama so you're going to have to do the legwork yourself. Obama will run this country into the ground like his economic advisers ran their businesses into the ground all the while profiting more than 90 million dollars from the fallout.

I want to pound my head into a wall every time a liberal makes fun of me for listening to conservative talk shows or reading conservative material. THEY ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE TELLING THE TRUTH! The difference between so-called 'journalism' and conservative talk shows is that only one is going to admit what side of the fence they're on. Journalism is supposed to report news in a fair and balanced manner, not give opinion or hide the facts about Obama. CBS, ABC, NBC, and PBS are no longer outlets of journalism. They are outlets of liberal opinion and lies. If they were to admit their bias then the stupid American voter could at least see where they were coming from rather than accepting it as hard-fact journalism.

These same libs who make fun of conservatism are the same people that send me death threats on this website. Yesterday I had a guy tell me he wishes he could inject me with cancer so that I would die a painful death.

These are the people voting for Obama. If you still can't see past Obama mania then wake up and at least try to do the research. You'll have to because journalism is dead.

Biden: Be A Patriot! Become A Socialist!

To any thinking Conservative it's clear what Biden and his liberal friends in Congress have been up to all along. The Democratic Congress is actually not a 'do nothing' Congress after all. It turns out they have been doing EVERYTHING they can to turn us into a socialist society. If that means sitting on their butts and ruining the country, then that's what they'll do.

Biden's comment today about the rich paying more taxes to be more patriotic should be a wake up call for ANYONE who doesn't see the socialist nature of Obama/Biden/Dem Congress. The Dems ironically believe that the rich are evil, even though they try to line their own pockets i.e. Obama with Fannie Mae.

If Obama is voted into the presidency by the ignorant voter, he will raise taxes on EVERYONE through businesses. When you get a pink slip in the mail because your rich employer can no longer afford to keep you in his employ, don't be surprised.

Biden wants us to redistribute every penny that you work hard for. Obama and Biden will try and control every aspect of your lives. Wake up America. It's time to vote McCain.

Be Proud Conservatives!

I don't know if anybody else notices this but doesn't it always seem like the liberals are the ones putting 100 crazy liberal bumper stickers on their cars or a dozen yard signs exclaiming their candidate of choice? I live in a very red state at the moment and it's always funny to me when I see an Obama/Biden sticker. About half of us voting for McCain could stay at home on election day and we would still bring home the win.

So what is it? I would assert that since liberals see liberal media EVERYWHERE they think that everyone else must think the same way. What they don't realize is that liberals are usually brain dead morons who live and breath CNN, ABC, and NBC. They couldn't see bias if it hit them with a two by four.

Since Conservatives have a foundation of black and white morals we don't need the media to sway our vote one way or another. We use actual knowledge and facts rather than emotions or party to determine who we vote for. We stand strong in knowing that we are Conservative first and our party, whomever they may be, comes second.

Regardless of who puts up more paraphernalia regarding their candidate, be proud to be a Conservative! Buy one of our new bumper stickers(top left) and let's show the liberals who's boss!

Born-alive survivor scolds Obama on vote protecting infanticide

The Stock Market And Blame

The big news still is the stock market plunge from yesterday. Let's put a few things in perspective.

The most important thing that any thinking American will realize is that Obama is going to pounce on this like a fat kid on Jello. He's going to blame Bush and only Bush. He's going to then try and align McCain with Bush as he's been trying to do all along. Of course he won't point out the Democratic Congress and their shortcomings nor will he point out the incredible gains we've made under Bush's administration.

McCain is going to tell us that everything is essentially okay. Which is true.

But what is most important to remember is what caused this to happen:

THE SOCIALIST, LIBERAL, COMMUNIST-LIKE GOVERNMENT THAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE TRYING TO TURN US INTO IS WHAT PUT US INTO THIS MESS.

Everything that you are seeing happen in the stock market is because of a liberal mindset. If the government would get out of the way and stop promoting a welfare state then we wouldn't see this happen. If the government would go back to a conservative mindset of getting what you deserve and not bailing everyone out, then we wouldn't have this problem.

I'm actually quite happy with the results from yesterday. It's a perfect reminder of what happens down the road when idiot presidents like Clinton tried with all their might to make us a socialist society. It's also the perfect reminder that Obama has NO experience to do anything about these types of scenarios.

WE ARE SUFFERING RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF CLINTON!!!

I have friends who think that the Clinton times were great because (a) They are biased and (b) They have no idea how much welfare was given out during those times. Clinton knew that we wouldn't suffer until the next presidential term. EDUCATE YOURSELVES!

Social security is a great example of suffering down the road. It is a socialist idea controlled by the government and has it worked out? NO! We've bankrupted social security and I don't want to hear anyone say Bush didn't do anything about that because that has been one of his strongest platforms.

Just wait until we bankrupt Medicare and Medicaid. Who will the blame fall on then? It should fall on liberal socialists but the media will blame it on Republicans regardless of who is in office.

Let's not forget that the President has very little to do with the economy. Let's not forget that the Democratic Congress has more power over that. Let's not forget that they have FAILED at EVERYTHING because they do NOTHING. They WANT us to suffer right now. Idiots.

By the way, the stock market is up 130 points today. Anyone see that in the news?

How The Media Will Handle The Wall Street News

Let's not forget today two things.

1. The people in charge of Fannie Mae were Democrats who expected a bail out when they went under. The Democrats in Congress gave them this bail out.

2. Obama profited the most out of any Senator because of the fall out. So while he lines his pockets, he'll tell you what dire straits we're in.

There is one very important rule of conservatism. When you make bad choices you must suffer for them. You can NEVER rely on the government to get you out of a fix you got yourself into. It only weakens you and society. Today's bankruptcy at Lehmen's is a good example. NO MORE BAIL OUTS!

Things To Remember During A Federal Election

One thing you'll learn when getting close to a federal election is that arguing with a liberal is like arguing with a really smart moose(and moose are REALLY dumb). Ironically our VP pick is quite talented in field dressing those majestic animals.

The second thing you'll learn is that Roe vs. Wade, i.e. abortion on demand, is more important to many Democrats than actually saving the lives of innocent infants. For Obama it's quite clearly stated because he was the only senator opposing the Born Alive Act. You see, if Obama had to choose between saving thousands of infants, or losing Roe vs. Wade, he would probably kill the children himself just to make a point. All of the innocents that fall by the wayside and all of the silent screams we never hear are just casualties of war to him. Sickening.

The third thing is that you will see the incredible bias in the media. It's funny how the media even tries to hide it.

The fourth thing is the incredulous look when the media actually observes the sea of red states. They can't believe that after all of the mud-slinging they threw towards the Republicans, that anyone would actually vote for one.

What's important for us to remember is that we actually have black and white values. Liberals don't. Don't let them fool you with high rhetoric in which Obama is a master of. Be proud to be a Conservative. Be proud to be different than what the media wants you to be. Be proud of your faith. Be proud of your morals. Our morals are what truly differentiate us from them.

Thoughts 9/12/08

Where do I draw the line when it comes to voting for our nation's leader?

For some conservatives it was hard to swallow the fact that McCain had been nominated. That is, until Obama was nominated. Then it became much easier. Here are some pretty easy reasons why NOT to vote Obama:

1. Obama supports infanticide. Let me define infanticide for some of you who don't know the difference between that and abortion. You see, infanticide is when a baby lives through an abortion and the doctors STILL let it die. There has been a bill passed called the Born Alive Act that now makes it illegal for babies to be left in storage rooms to die if they live through an abortion. The Act states that once outside of the womb, the child has the same rights of protection as you and I(pretty amazing that that same child can be murdered without consequence while still inside the womb just minutes before though huh?). Obama was the ONLY senator to speak against this bill claiming that it would infringe on the rights of a woman to have an abortion.

I could stop there. But I won't because some people's hatred of Bush supersedes their moral ability to not vote for a candidate who doesn't value an unborn child's life.

2. Obama is friends with a terrorist. His name is William Ayers. William Ayers admits and is openly proud of bombing the Pentagon. He also states that he did not do enough when he had the chance.

If you STILL want to vote for this guy after that then here's one more.

3. Under Obama's health plan it will be ILLEGAL for you to pay for your own healthcare. For instance, if you did not want to wait in the now unbelievably long lines that socialist healthcare will create, you would not be able to go to a doctor and pay him with your own money. The government is the only entity that would determine whether or not you should (a) Be eligible for that procedure at all and (b) When you are entitled to be seen by a doctor. No more competition. No more free will for doctors. The government is now in charge of your health. When was the last time government regulation did anything good for you?

My wife and I bought a health insurance plan yesterday for us and our baby. It costs 3 times as cheap as what my work had to offer and it offered more! Complain all you want about health insurance but it really isn't that bad. You know why? COMPETITION!!! Here's the UNBELIEVABLE crazy fact. Under Obama's plan I will pay MORE in taxes for mine and other people's healthcare than I am now just paying for my families. And under Obama's plan I can't choose when to visit a doctor because I'll have to wait for a bureaucrat to give me the go ahead!

As a side note if anyone wants the website we shopped at let me know and I'll hook you up!

I can understand not voting for Obama because of the above reasons. I can even understand not voting for McCain because you're a hard-up Democrat who can't swallow a bitter pill. But voting for a guy who supports infanticide, is friends with terrorists, and makes it illegal for you to pay for your own healthcare is just lunacy.

If you do decide to vote for him, do this. Close your eyes, make believe what I just said never happened, and go live in a blissful world of ignorance until you're woken up by another terrorist attack because your new messiah wanted to 'talk it out' with Achmadinijad.

It's Too Late Obama!

This is funny when he gets to the chorus.

Oil Price Drops And No One Talks?

Here's some news you're not going to get anywhere else(most likely). I'm browsing the uber-liberal website of the NY Times and find a a very positive article for once. It was entitled "Oil Slips Near $100 A Barrel". I bookmarked the page so that I could come back to it later and give you my genius insightful thoughts. When I did come back to it the article had had it's name changed EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE SAME ARTICLE! The new title was "Oil Companies Brace for a 2nd Blow". I guess the Times had decided they had made an uber-mistake by giving a positive light to this specific headline because it paints Republicans in a good light. What do I mean by this? Good question.

You see, on July 11(exactly two months ago) oil had hit $147 a barrel. On July 14 President Bush lifted the offshore ban on drilling giving the Dems in Congress a chance to help us out. On that exact day oil began what is the LARGEST drop in price in U.S. history. Today oil is down to $100 a barrel.

Don't want to give credit to Bush for at least TRYING to make your lives easier? Well you sure can't give the Democrats credit for anything because the only thing they did was stall any voting and then went on vacation while you and I and Joe Blow suffer through more high gas prices. Thanks Democrats in Congress! You're a real peach! No wonder your approval rating is 18%(almost as low as Harry Ried and Nancy Pelosi's IQ).

So up until now there is no news that oil is down to $100 a barrel. The reason obviously being that in order for the press to give you good news it would only push McCain further ahead in the polls.

It's easy to find a story ridiculing the nation. But when you get lucky enough to see an NY Times author mess up and give us a positive headline, it's priceless.

Palin's Daughter Combs Hair Alaskan Style

What a sweet kid. If I were Palin I'd be pretty fired up too after the left-wing media told me I should have murdered my child in the womb.

Thoughts on 9/11/08

1. Matt Damon is an idiot. He was quoted earlier as saying that Palin was 'scary' and that anyone who believes dinosaurs existed 4000 years ago should not have the nuclear codes.

First of all, let me point out that Damon is effectively saying that anyone who believes in the Bible should not be President. That's revolting in and of itself.

Secondly, does anyone realize that if Obama were to be voted President that he would be the first person in U.S. history to be openly friends with a terrorist and still get the highest U.S. top secret clearance? Pretty amazing that anyone is still discussing this guy seriously could be a good leader.

2. The left values abortion more than you will ever imagine.

Did you hear that sound? Yeah that would be the sound of the Left exploding over the fact that the first female VP might be a Republican. They've gone so far as to make Sarah Palin's decision to keep her mentally handicapped baby rather than slaughtering it in the ritual we call abortion.

Dr. Andre Lalonde, executive vice president of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in Ottawa, worries that Palin's now renowned decision may cause abortions in Canada to decline as other women there and elsewhere opt to follow suit.

He says not every woman is prepared to deal with the consequences of Down babies, who have developmental delays, some physical difficulties and often a shortened lifespan.

Lalonde says his primary concern is that women have the choice of abortion and that greater public awareness of women making choices like Palin to complete a pregnancy and give birth to their genetically-abnormal baby could be detrimental and confusing to the women and their families.

Does anyone understand what that means? There are people out there who are actually claiming that Palin made the WRONG choice in not murdering her child.

If you are voting Obama, these are the kind of people we will see in government.

How This Day Defined Me

Today is one of those days that is different for me. It's one of those emotional days that I remember back seven years ago and can visualize the exact moment I found out about the attacks. This day changed my life in many ways.

It made me a true Conservative.

It made me realize there are real differences between the two main political parties.

It made me realize that regardless of what a man does for his country, regardless of how he keeps it safe, people on the other side would rather see this war lost than see our President win.

I saw true hatred.

I saw real sorrow.

This day created real heroes. Not just on that day, but in the fight overseas. Every soldier who enlists and bleeds and sweats and loves this country is a hero.

I saw the greatest evil of our time, Islamic-Nazi terrorism.

I saw these terrorists kill more than 3000 Americans.

This day defined much of who I am because I saw true leadership from a President.

I saw a President protect us for the past seven years. I saw him fight for our protections while the Democrats only wanted to wave the white flag of defeat. It made me proud to have voted for him.

You'll hear a lot of noise and garbage today. You'll hear people like Keith Olbermann say that McCain supports Osama Bin Laden. You'll hear the conspiracies. What will be the most deafening noise will be the silence from the President's opponents. You'll never hear them say he did anything good for us.

I will never forget. I will remember that we haven't been attacked in seven years. And I don't need the left-wing media's silence to remind me.

Who Is The Most Unfortunate Person On Earth?

I wonder who the most unfortunate person on Earth is. I'd like to meet this person just so that I could be reminded of how blessed I am to be an American and live in the greatest nation on God's green Earth. But then I started thinking and that's always a bad thing(especially for liberals). The ironic thing is I have to think like a liberal to come up with some of these questions.

What qualities must you have and what qualifies you to be the most unfortunate person on earth(who we will abbreviate from now on to be UPOE so I don't have to type it again)? Is it their economic situation? Health? Spirituality? Physical pain?

Obviously, I myself would start with the fact that if you don't believe in God, and are going to Hell, you are pretty unfortunate. I don't mean to offend anyone by saying that but my Bible is pretty clear in saying that a minimum qualification of passing through the pearly gates is a belief in the God who created you. Call me judgmental if you must.

But does going to Hell really make you the most UPOE?

What about monetary wealth? Obviously you're pretty unfortunate if you have none. And there are plenty of people who do have none. But I don't know. I've met plenty of completely broke people(especially in other countries) that are happier than rich people here in the States.

What about health? Here in the States, once again, we like to argue over health insurance and government responsibility over us and so forth. If you get cancer with no health insurance maybe you could get close to being the most UPOE.

Physical pain? People who are in constant physical pain could also qualify. I'm not so sure about that either.

And then I was sitting one day in my house and the air conditioner broke down. I realized something. Despite my relative wealth and the fact that God loves me and I have great health care here in the U.S. and I'm not in constant physical pain means something.

I'm hot and miserable so I am the most UPOE. I win.

Newest Polls 12:38 p.m. 9/8/08

I was going to post an hour ago that McCain was up 2.3 points but instead I just looked and he's up 3.2 points now. As my wife's grandmother would say: 'Whoa Baby!'

Latest Polls: 9/8/08

National average has McCain up 1.2 points. Still on the rise!

Sunday, September 7, 2008

Newest Polls 9/7/08

Wow! USA Today/Gallup has McCain up by 10 points! Unbelievable CHANGE of course since McCain hasn't had a national average lead yet until today. Of course I'm not getting HOPEs up but is it possible that after hearing what McCain has to offer that Obama-Mania is slowing down?

RCP(Real Clear Politics) national average has McCain sitting up by 1.0% which is still significant because the closest McCain has ever been was 2.4 points down and that was yesterday. Zogby hasn't come out with a poll since yesterday but I'll get that up as soon as possible.

Media Bias? The Fight Against Palin

McCain Beats Obama's Viewership

LOS ANGELES, Sept 5 (Reuters) - A record 38.9 million U.S. TV viewers watched John McCain accept the Republican nomination for president on Thursday, slightly more than the 38.3 million people who tuned in for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's speech, Nielsen Media Research reported.

McCain's tally was also higher than the 37.2 million Americans who tuned in to hear Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's address, Nielsen said on Friday.

And all this with the first NFL game of the season also showing!

Presidential Poll: Net Average

McCain was down 6 points yesterday. The spread is down to 3.2% More later.

Palin Nearly Beats Obama in Viewership

Palin pulled in 37.2 million viewers across broadcast and cable networks, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That's 55% higher than Day 3 of the DNC, when her Democratic counterpart, Joe Biden, and President Clinton took the stage (24 million).

It's also up a sharp 99% from the Republican convention's third day in 2004 (18.7 million) and easily bests the numbers viewers attracted by George W. Bush when he accepted the nomination (27.6 million). In fact, it came close to upsetting Obama's address last Thursday(38.4 million)

Here's the best part. Obama's speech was carried on 10 networks whereas Palin's was only carried on 6(no bias in the media?). So if I do my math right, Palin could have had 62 million viewers with 10 networks covering her speech.

Yeah yeah I know the number is high but don't discredit the impact this will have for the betterment of the McCain/Palin ticket. I'll have McCain numbers tomorrow.

Thoughts on McCain's Speech at RNC

It's funny to me how people on the left say they're not voting for McCain because of his voting record with Bush. You see, us conservatives actually LIKE Bush, so that's not a bad thing when McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time. And conservatives like myself can actually tell you when they disagree with Bush. The biggest mistake Bush made, in my opinion, is the Tax Stimulus Package. The liberal ideals of making the citizens of this great nation rely on the government in 'tough times' was only encouraged by that stupid welfare move. But I agreed with nearly everything that Bush did, especially his move to bring the war to the terrorists and keep us safe. The only other thing that I would disagree with him is not vetoing enough spending bills that both sides of Congress brought to his table. It was not conservative, and like I've said in earlier notes, Republicans paid the price in the Senate by being voted out of office. And if anyone brings up his poll numbers may I remind you that your liberal congress has been in the single digits in approval? They are the worst group of people to ever enter the Congress and the American people are paying attention.

Here are some thoughts on McCain's speech. He said:

"We believe in low taxes, spending discipline, and open markets. We believe in rewarding hard work and risk-takers and letting people keep the fruits of their labor. We believe in a strong defense, work, faith, service, a culture of life…personal responsibility, the rule of law, and judges who dispense justice impartially and don’t legislate from the bench."

If any lib out there disagrees with that I'd really like to know why.

"I will keep taxes low and cut them where I can. My opponent will raise them. I will open new markets to our goods and services. My opponent will close them. I will cut government spending. He will increase it. My tax cuts will create jobs; his tax increases will eliminate them. My health care plan will make it easier for more Americans to find and keep good health care insurance. His plan will force small businesses to cut jobs, reduce wages, and force families into a government-run health care system where a bureaucrat stands between you and your doctor."

Sounding good Senator. Keep it coming:

"Senator Obama wants our schools to answer to unions and entrenched bureaucrats. I want schools to answer to parents and students."

Boom.

"We’re going to stop sending $700 billion a year to countries that don’t like us very much, and [with] some of that money we’ll attack the problem on every front. We’ll produce more energy at home. We will drill new wells off-shore, and we’ll drill them now. We’ll drill them now."

Woot Woot!!!

"In Vietnam, where I formed the closest friendships of my life, some of those friends never came home with me. I hate war. It’s terrible beyond imagination. I’m running for president to keep the country I love safe and prevent other families from risking their loved ones in war as my family has. I will draw on all my experience with the world and its leaders, and all the tools at our disposal — diplomatic, economic, military, and the power of our ideals — to build the foundations for a stable and enduring peace."

If you want peace, prepare for war. Sic' 'em John.

"I’m not running for president because I think I’m blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save our country in its hour of need.(smacketydooda Mr. Obama) My country saved me. My country saved me, and I cannot forget it. And I will fight for her for as long as I draw breath, so help me God."

Like it, love it, want some more of it.

"My friends, if you find faults with our country, make it a better one. If you’re disappointed with the mistakes of government, join its ranks and work to correct them. Enlist in our Armed Forces. Become a teacher. Enter the ministry. Run for public office. Feed a hungry child. Teach an illiterate adult to read. Comfort the afflicted. Defend the rights of the oppressed. Our country will be the better, and you will be the happier, because nothing brings greater happiness in life than to serve a cause greater than yourself. I’m going to fight for my cause every day as your president. I’m going to fight to make sure every American has every reason to thank God, as I thank him, that I’m an American, a proud citizen of the greatest country on Earth. And with hard work, strong faith, and a little courage, great things are always within our reach."

Quite a difference from Michelle Obama saying that this is the first time she's ever been proud of her country and that in 2008 America is a downright mean nation.

Fred Thompson Teaches Obama A Lesson

So I'm watching the Republican convention tonight and had a few thoughts. I also watched the DNC and found that it was smothered in negativity, self loathing, and doubt for our country's future. The RNC of course was the other way around. This is because Republicans as a whole love this country far more than Democrats do as proven by our support for our military, economy, and conservative foundation.

The best moment of the night for me was when Fred Thompson spoke. He was my choice for our nominee but decided to drop out in January so as not to muddle the vote any further because he believed he hadn't gained enough support by that point. Fred tells it like it is about Obama raising taxes:

"We need a President who understands that you don't make citizens prosperous by making Washington richer, and you don't lift an economic downturn by imposing one of the largest tax increases in American history.

Now our opponents tell you not to worry about their tax increases.

They tell you they are not going to tax your family.

No, they're just going to tax "businesses"! So unless you buy something from a "business", like groceries or clothes or gasoline ... or unless you get a paycheck from a big or a small "business", don't worry ... it's not going to affect you.

They say they are not going to take any water out of your side of the bucket, just the "other" side of the bucket! That's their idea of tax reform."

I love ol' Fred and really wish he could have gained more momentum.

Basically we can't afford a President like Obama. It's almost as ridiculous to not vote as it is to vote for Obama. If you're a third-party nutcase who believes the lie that a fringe party can do anything good for this country so be it. But really think about what you're doing by wasting your vote or not voting at all. Also can anyone tell me why they're voting for Obama? The words 'Change' and 'Hope' are not allowed. You need to actually tell me what he's going to do to make this country better. And 'Not be like Bush' is also an invalid answer because it's stupid and ignorant. Good luck because you can't do it.

Why I Left The Left - by Seth Swirsky

I used to be a liberal. I was in one of the first "open" classrooms growing up in very progressive Great Neck, New York, in the 1960s. In 1971, when I was 11, I wrote vitriolic letters to President Nixon demanding an end to the Vietnam War. My first vote, in 1980, was for Independent John Anderson, followed by Mondale, Dukakis, and Clinton-Gore. I read Thomas Friedman in the NY Times and tried to "understand" the "root causes" of the "despair" he said the Palestinians felt that drove them to blow up innocent Israelis. I wasn't an overtly political person - I just never veered from the liberal zeitgeist of the community in which I was raised.

But when I was about 27, in the late 1980s, cracks in my liberal worldview began to appear. It started with an uproar from the Left when Tipper Gore had the audacity to suggest a label on certain CDs to warn parents of lyrics that were clearly inappropriate for young people. Her suggestion was simple common sense and I was surprised by the furor it caused from the likes of Frank Zappa (and others) who felt their freedoms were being encroached upon. It was my first introduction into the entitled, selfish and irresponsible thinking I now associate with the Left.

In 1989, I remember questioning whether Democrat David Dinkins was the best choice for Mayor of New York City (where I lived) over Rudy Giuliani. After all, Dinkins' biggest claim to fame was as a city clerk in the Marriage License Bureau while Giuliani, as a United States District Attorney, had just de-fanged the mob. But, racial "healing" was the issue of the day, Dinkins won, and the city went straight downhill. When Giuliani beat Dinkins in a rematch four years later - Surprise! - the crime rate plummeted, tourism boomed, Times Square came alive not with pimps but with commerce. Since 1993, the overwhelmingly liberal electorate in New York City has voted for Republicans for Mayor. Yet, to this day, many of my liberal friends refer to the decisive and effective Giuliani as a Nazi, even as they stroll their children through neighborhoods he cleaned up.

After moving to Los Angeles in the early 90s, I watched from the roof of my apartment building as the city burned after the Rodney King verdicts were handed down. I thought what those four cops did to King was shameful. But I didn't hear an uproar from my friends on the Left when rioters rampaged through the city's streets, stealing, looting, and destroying property in the name of "no justice, no peace." And it was impossible not to notice the hypocrisy when prominent Hollywood liberals, who had hosted anti-NRA fundraisers at their homes a week before the riots were standing in line at shooting ranges the week after it.

I watched carefully as Anita Hill testified during Clarence Thomas's Supreme Court nomination hearing, claiming Thomas - once head of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission - sexually harassed her after she rebuffed his invitations to date him. At the time, I rooted, as did all my friends, for Miss Hill, hoping that her testimony would result in Thomas not getting confirmed. In retrospect, I'm ashamed that I was ever on the "side" of people who so viciously demonized a decent, qualified person like Judge Thomas, whether you agree with his judicial philosophy or not. Condoleezza Rice, during eligibility hearings for both National Security Advisor and Secretary of State, also had to deal with rude people like Barbara Boxer, who seemed not to be able to fathom that a black American could embrace conservatism.

I voted for Al Gore in 2000. When he lost, I was disappointed, mostly in my fellow Democrats for thinking that the election had been "stolen" and in having forgotten their American history. The Electoral College has elected three other Presidents in our history: John Quincy Adams in1824, Rutherford B. Hayes in 1876, and Benjamin Harrison in1888. The rush to judgment by the now conspiracy consumed Left put me off. Where, I asked, were all the "disenfranchised" black voters who would have given Gore a victory in Florida? No one could produce a single name. And how exactly were the voting machines in Ohio "rigged" in 2004? I now refer to the Democrats as the Grassy Knoll party.

Still, I approached the 2004 primaries with an open mind. I was still a Democrat, still hoping that leaders like Sam Nunn and Scoop Jackson would emerge, still fantasizing that Democrats could constitute a party of truly progressive social thinkers with tough backbones who would reappear after 9/11.

I was wrong. The Left got nuttier, more extreme, less contributory to the public debate, more obsessed with their nemesis Bush - and it drove me further away. What Democrat could support Al Gore's '04 choice for President, Howard Dean, when Dean didn't dismiss the suggestion that George W. Bush had something to do with the 9/11 attacks? Or when the second most powerful Senate Democrat, Dick Durbin, thought our behavior at the detention center in Guantanamo was equivalent to Bergen Belsen and the Soviet gulags? Or when Senator Kennedy equated the unfortunate but small incident at Abu Ghraib with Saddam's 40-year record of mass murder, rape rooms, and mass graves saying, "Saddam's torture chambers have reopened under new management, U.S. management"? What Democrat could not applaud the fact that President had, in fact, kept us safe for what's going on 5 years? What Democrat - even those who opposed the decision to go into Iraq - wouldn't applaud the fact that tens of millions of previously brutalized people had the hope of freedom before them?

What made me leave the Left for good and embrace the Right were their respective reactions to 9/11. While The New York Times doubted that we could succeed in Afghanistan because the Soviets in the '80s hadn't, George W. Bush went directly after the Taliban and Al Qaeda and crushed them in short order. Although many on the Left claim to have backed the President's actions, the self-doubt leading up to it, crystallized my view of the Left as weak and terminally lacking in confidence.

I supported President Bush's hard line against the father of modern terrorism, Yasir Arafat, remembering that Bush's predecessor hosted Arafat at the White House 13 times, more often than any other world leader. I applauded Bush's unequivocal support for Israel, which every day faced (and faces) suicide attacks against its people. But I was most disappointed with liberal Jews who don't understand that their very existence is rooted in Israel's existence and that George W. Bush has been the best friend that Israel has ever had. But because they are less Jewish than they are liberal, they didn't reward Bush with their vote in 2004.

Finally, I supported President Bush's decision to oust Saddam and make possible the only democracy (other than Israel) in this crucial region of the Middle East. Post 9/11, we had to figure out a way to lessen the chances of more 9/11s. Democracy is a weapon in that war. If people are free to build businesses, buy homes, send their children to schools, pursue upward mobility, live their lives without fear, read newspapers of every opinion, vote for their leaders, resolve differences with debate and not bombs, they will have no reason to want to harm us.

In response, the Left offered bumper-sticker-type arguments like, Bush lied and thousands died. But Bush never lied. He, like Clinton and Gore and Kerry and the U.N. and the British and French and Israeli intelligence services affirmed that Saddam's WMD were a vital threat - a threat, that post- 9/11, could not stand. An overwhelming number of Democrats voted for the war - but now the Left says they were "scared" into their votes by Bush. What does it say about Democrats if the "dummy" they think Bush is can scare them so easily?

Iraq is the "Normandy" of the War on Terror. The hope, once Iraq and Afghanistan are more stable, is that the nearly 70 million people in Iran will look at those countires (on it's left and right borders) and say: "Why do these people get to vote, send their women to school, and buy Nikes and we don't?" - and then topple their Mullah's dictatorial regime. The President understands the big picture -- that if the U.S. doesn't help to remake that volatile region, we will face a nuclear version of 9/11 within the next two or five or 10 years. He is simply being realistic in his outlook and responsible in his actions. Iraq is succeeding, slowly but surely, but that's not a sexy enough story to lead the news with: the relatively small amount of casualities are. Don't forget, we occupied Germany and Japan for seven years and we still have troops there, more than 60 years after World War II ended.

And what have the Democrats contributed to the war effort since 9/11? Democrat Sen. Russ Feingold has suggested censuring our president; Former President and Vice President Bill Clinton and Al Gore, while visiting foreign countries, have blasted President Bush - acts of unconscionable irresponsibility; Democrat Rep. John Murtha, has invoked a cut-and-run policy in Iraq, supported by Democrat Senate Minority leader Harry Reid and Democrat House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi. Do they think the Middle East and the World would be safer if we had cut and run, as Murtha's plan wanted us to do? Under that plan, our troops would have been out of Iraq by May 18th and al-Zarqawi wouldn't be dead, but pulling the strings in an Iraqi civil war. With these kinds of ideas and behaviors, I just don't trust Democrats when it comes to our national security.

And so, as any reader of this article can well understand, it became impossible for me to relate to the modern Democrat Party which has tacked way too far to the left and is dominated by elites that don't like or trust the real people that make up most of the country.

Although I haven't always agreed with President Bush, I proudly voted for him in 2004 (the only one of the 4-winning Electoral College - elected Presidents to win re-election). And I now fully understand Ronald Reagan's statement, when he described why he switched from being a liberal to a conservative: "I didn't leave the party - It left me!"
